Neighborhood Pick-up Day

Kurt Eckman, who has been a volunteer for House 2Home, suggested a "neighborhood pick-up" day for furniture and household goods.  He is a resident of The Reserve at Seven Points in Hermitage. Kurt contacted an adjoining subdivision to join in the effort. On February 4th, nine volunteers canvassed the two subdivisions with flyers which explained House2Home Nashville and invited the residents to be a part of the donation day. Saturday, February 25th was a rainy February morning, but that did not stop the effort or enthusiasm. Nine homes had furniture and household goods for House2Home. Prior to that day, eight individuals brought items to a central location to have ready for the truck. Five individuals: Michael Gray (founder of House2Home), Kurt Eckman, Adam Fluehr, Mark Bowles and Esther Swink made pickups. An empty truck entered the subdivision and a truck plus two SUVs left full!                                                                                              House 2Home congratulates Kurt on his creative idea and leadership.

A Team Effort
Mary Frances Sartorius, who has donated items personally over the past several years, suggested to her Beta Theta chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority that for their charity project the members should purchase new towel sets for House2Home to donate to our formerly homeless clients.  The members took the challenge, purchasing over $2000.00 worth of towels.  Six enthusiastic members delivered them to the H2H warehouse on Saturday, February 25. They stayed to learn about the processes H2H uses, packaged the sets to get them shelf ready for the delivery teams to take to clients, and even assisted with organizing other linens.  It was a pleasure working with them and we are so grateful for their generosity.                                                    A BIG THANKS to BETA THETA!!
